Objectives
Competences:
Sustainable development - You develop an understanding, vision, and appreciation for sustainability that affect personal, and professions lives, local communities, and global society at large. You study and explore linkages between multiple aspects of sustainability and business.
To achieve this competence, you will:
-understand the concept and principles of sustainable development in the context of business,
-recognize sustainability challenges and their consequences for businesses, local communities, and global society,
-use your accumulated knowledge and skills to create and implement sustainable solutions to solve business problems.
Upon completion of the course you will be able to:
- Identify and place into practice information-based decision making approaches to business opportunities arising from global sustainability needs
- Embrace ethical conduct in practice and decision-making in order to come up with sustainable solutions to global needs
- Demonstrate intercultural teamwork, leadership, and conflict resolution skills.
Content
Design thinking, team dynamics, sales pitching, intensive design experience, platform-based networking
Learning materials and recommended literature
The theme/challenge presentation material provided by the organizer (Texas A&M University). Presentation training materials, samples of winning video presentations form previous implementations.
Teaching methods
An intensive Innovation Workshop coached by subject matter experts
Exam dates and retake possibilities
No exam. Assessment based on the final team presentation of the solution created.
International connections
The event is run simultaneously in some 20 countries, the participants are networked during the event via joint Teams-platform.

Workshop event runs on 14.-16.2.2025, the challenges will be published and teams created starting 10.2.2025.

Evaluation criteria, pass/failed
You actively participated in course-related activities, demonstrating strong ability to work as a team on finding unique and sustainable solution for impactful problem in accordance with the course competences. You have submitted all course assignments in time.
