Course Purpose:
In this course, you will develop your competence in supporting learners in the development of their career planning skills. You will explore career planning as a set of learnable skills and gain an understanding of their significance. You will be equipped to support learners on their individual paths and in making educational and career-related decisions.

- Changes in working life and their impact on competence, vocational education, and individuals’ life planning and decision-making
- Career planning skills as learnable skills
- Career planning during life transitions and change situations
- Career planning skills and legislation related to vocational education
- The teacher’s role in the development of career planning skills
- The construction of learners’ vocational and competence identity and guidance for individual learning paths

Oppimateriaalit ovat löydettävissä Moodle-oppimisympäristössä.

Teaching methods

Opintojakso perustuu itsenäiseen työskentelyyn ja vuorovaikutteiseen vertaisoppimiseen opiskelijan oman aikataulun mukaisesti. Opintojaksoon sisältyy ohjauspäivillä tapahtuvaa ohjausta.

Student workload

Opintojakso on laajuudeltaan 5 op, mikä vastaa 135 h opiskelijan työtä.

Guidance for Lifelong Learning and Professional Growth
- You understand career planning as a learnable skill and can support learners’ self-awareness and help them identify goals related to a meaningful life and future.
- You are able to support learners on their individual paths and in making educational and career decisions.

Arviointi on osaamistavoitteisiin pohjautuvaa, laadullista ja kriteeriperusteista. Arviointiaineiston muodostavat opintojakson oppimistehtävät ja itsearviointitehtävä. Arviointipäätöksen tekee opettajakorkeakoulun kouluttaja, kun kaikki oppimistehtävät on tehty.
