Objective
In this course, you will learn the fundamentals of the Swedish language. After completing the course, you will be able to introduce yourself, talk about your family, hobbies, studies, and work. You will practice Swedish language related to shopping and dining, as well as language for traveling. You will become familiar with numbers, expressing time, personal pronouns, nouns, verbs, adjectives, word order and prepositions.

Vocabulary and phrases related to communicating information about yourself, your family, study, and work. Language related to shopping, dining and traveling. Basics of Swedish grammar.
Materials
Rivstart A1/A2 Textbook and Workbook, chapters 1-7.
Teaching methods
This course is conducted online. We will meet once a week at a pre-arranged time. The teaching will take place through Zoom. The support language used will be English.
Meeting Day and Time: Wednesdays at 16.30-18.00.
During the weekly lessons on Zoom, you will work on written and oral exercises both independently and in groups. You will also complete assignments, and the teacher will provide feedback on these.
Student workload
We will meet 10-12 times, once a week, for two hours each session. Attendance is mandatory for these meetings. In addition to the meetings, you should reserve 1-2 hours per week for homework.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
Pass
You can talk and write about yourself and your family, your hobbies, studies, and work. You can handle simple situations when shopping, dining out, and traveling. You have a basic understanding of the basics of Swedish language grammar.
Fail
You did not meet the minimum requirements for passing the course.
Qualifications
This course is designed for students who are starting to learn the Swedish language for the first time.
