Timetable of the intensive contact meetings and learning assignments in the Moodle workspace
During the course, learning takes place by participating in intensive contact meetings, independent information search and studying in Moodle workspace, group work, various learning assignments and peer support.
Tavoitteet
The course aims at giving the student and overview of what a modern human resource management is in its contents and sub-processes across the different stages of employer-employee relationship. Via assignments and workshops student will get a view of the real-life applications of the HRM frameworks introduced.
Course competences
Ethics Competence: You take responsibility for your own actions and their consequences and reflect on them in accordance with ethical principles and values. You promote equality and non-discrimination. You understand the principles of responsible conduct of research and adhere to them.
Internationality and multiculturalism Competence: You monitor global trends in your field. You operate effectively in international and multicultural work environments.
Sustainable global business management Competence: You critically review and understand core concepts of global business management and sustainability from multidisciplinary perspectives of marketing, sales, strategy, finance, and management. You apply disciplinary and interdisciplinary knowledge to analyze global business challenges and propose sustainable business solutions to grow new ventures in global markets.
The learning objectives of the course
Upon completion of the course, you recognize the liability of equal treatment of people and legal obligations of employment relationships. You are familiar with the process of human resource management, and you know how to overcome possible conflicts and protect and promote a good employer-employee relationship at work. You show some justified and innovative solutions for managerial problems and use of business intelligence.
Sisältö
HRM´s role in strategy, Job analysis, Workforce Planning and Recruitment, Performance Evaluation and Management, Development and Training, Compensation, Legal and ethical aspects in HRM, Occupational Health and Safety, HRM and emerging technologies, International HRM and careers, Future trends for HRM.
For each content unit there will be processes and analytical tools provided for instantiations of models and concepts learned.
Opetusmenetelmät
You will also participate in contact lectures and workshops, where you reflect and share what you have learned using methods of collaborative learning and dialogue.
You will also study in the Moodle learning environment, where you will find course instructions, schedules, assignments and study materials. Learning environment Moodle - workspace guides and supports learning.
You will conduct independent information gathering and apply what you have learned in individual and group assignments as well as in various dialogical discussions.
Students will be checked three weeks after the start of the implementation. When a student submits an orientation assignment, he/she expresses his/her activity and can continue studying during the course.
Guidance
You will receive guidance in the Moodle learning environment (e.g. question and answer forum) and in contact meetings. You will also receive guidance from your peer students.
Feedback
You will receive both qualitative and quantitative evaluation and feedback on your learning assignments.
You give feedback on the course (mid-term and final feedback on the implementation).

You can familiarise yourself with 17§ of Jamk's degree regulations when considering the recognition and recognition of course competence based on your previously acquired competence and the objectives of the course.

You can recognize and find some very basic ESR-related issues and its ap-plications in HR. You attempt to participate in inter- and multicultural setting and teamwork.
You attempt to analyze and use academic, and business information justification relevant to HRM. You recognize some business challenges and trends in HRM and in HRM action.
Satisfactory 2
You are familiar with some key concepts and terms related to ESR and its applications in HRM. You can participate in inter- and multicultural setting and teamwork.
You are aware of equal treatment of people and attempt to address dis-crimination in HRM practice. You find some solutions for managerial problems related to HRM.

You know the key concepts and terms and can propose solutions into typical legal and business problems of HRM taking ESR-issues into account. You promote equal treatment of people in your actions and in business and you can contribute to international teamwork by with argumentation. First year course of Management (JAMK Degree students) or equivalent course of basics of management (exchange students) completed.
Lisätiedot
During the course, what you have learned will be assessed qualitatively and quantitatively based on learning outcomes using many different methods: exam, feedback from the teacher, the student's own self-assessment and feedback from peers, small groups and the Moodle learning environment.
In the study course, updated Arene recommendations and Jamk rules are followed in the utilization of artificial intelligence, instructions and possible ethical questions.
Assessment
Final exam 0- 40 points
Three (3) individual assignments, each max 10 points
Group project = HRM Case paper 0 - 30 points
Requirements for passing the course : you need to get altogether at the minimum 45 points
