Objective

The student understands the key concepts of film theory and is able to utilise them in the analysis of dialogue. They recognise what creates emotional tension and how the content of dialogue reveals the character’s nature. The student knows how to create different levels of meaning in dialogue. They write simple scenes in various styles and apply the principles learned in practice.

- The role of dialogue in narration and character development. - Subtext and surface text - The significance of subtext in narration and depicting humanity - Writing a scene on different levels and in various styles

The course is implemented as an online study via Moodle. The student completes the course independently at their own pace during the implementation’s period of availability.
