Objective
The students identify phenomena related to disability, client groups, and the special needs of people with disabilities. They know the basic concepts, key legislation, contracts and services in the field. The students are familiar with the current discussion about disability. They reflect on their own professional relationship to the subject.
Content
The key principles and challenges regarding the Finnish disability policy, human rights, right of self-determination, equality, inclusion and accessibility. Disability and the related special needs. Legislation on disability, services and support measures. Communication supporting and replacing speech.
Location and time
The implementation of the study unit is intended primarily for students in the incoming group SXH24S2VE.
