Evaluation methods and criteria

The course unit is assessed on a scale of fail to 5. The final course grade is based on the evaluation of an oral examination, in which competence in accordance with the learning outcomes of the course unit is demonstrated. In addition, successful completion of the course requires participation in teaching and participation in staged group work, which must be documented in writing according to the instructions provided in Moodle. The group work is assessed on a pass-fail basis.

Student - is familiar with the main theories and research on welfare - understands how national and global social structures, politics and economics impact the well-being of individuals and communities - is familiar with the different ways of organising and producing welfare services - is familiar with the structures and processes that support sustainable development.

Materials

The learning material will be announced to students by the beginning of March 2026.

Teaching methods

The implementation of the course unit will take place online according to a schedule. The implementation is primarily intended for the SXH25S2VE group. Completion of the course unit consists of: - Participation in Zoom teaching and adherence to the schedule - Participation in phased group work, with progress being documented in writing in Moodle according to the instructions - Independent study on the Moodle platform and reading learning materials in preparation for the examination - Successful completion of the oral examination (assessment: fail–5)

Exam schedules

A retake examination opportunity is available in Exam. The retake examination must be completed by 24 May 2026.

Completion alternatives

No alternative mode of completion. Teachers will provide instructions on possible compensatory assignments separately at the start of the course for the purpose of compensating for absences due to compelling reasons.

Student workload

5 credits, which means 135 hours of student work input.
