Objective

To learn how to create a functional Qt application for an embedded device - Learn to write QML user interface with a C++ backend that communicates over ethernet - Learn how to deploy a Qt application to an embedded device

Lectures and online support Kick-off session - Introduction to the project - Practical programming tips - Need to teach Git etc? Weekly online support Wrap-up session - Need for students to present their results? Project Description Cluster UI written with QML - Either manual coding with QML or with Qt Design Studio C++ Backend sending simulated data - Simulator that triggers event data from the backend - Unit testing of C++ code? Optional: deploy to Boot2Qt device - Can students use hardware for testing and deployment?

Location and time

Calendar weeks 2-9 / 2026 Kick-off meeting for the training on January 7th at 2:00pm (duration: 2h) to officially start the program and align on objectives and expectations. Following the kick-off, we would then organize weekly sessions every Wednesday at 2:00pm (duration: 2h, for a total of 16h). Please note that there will be no session on January 28th, as I will be on vacation this week Finally, during March 11th at 2:00pm (duration: 2h), we will hold a wrap-up meeting to conclude the training and review student's achievement.
