The course is completed independently in Moodle. Assessment is based on the submitted assignments, and the grading scale is pass/fail. To pass the course, all assignments must be submitted according to the instructions and demonstrate achievement of the course objectives.

Content scheduling
The course content is divided into 17 themes, all of which are available on Moodle from the beginning of the course. Students can progress through the themes in any order and at their own pace. However, we recommend progressing steadily to help manage the workload.
Objective
After completing the course, students will: - recognize and use key nursing terminology related to the course themes - be able to apply the terminology in simple interactive situations - be able to compile and maintain their own vocabulary portfolio (pocket notebook) - understand basic nursing terminology and be able to use it in practical situations.
Content
The themes and exercises in this course focus on the key vocabulary and interaction situations in nursing. The course covers anatomy, particularly visible body parts and the most important internal organs. In addition, students will learn about diets and nutrition, excretion, and basic care equipment and aids used for mobility, patient transfer, and eating. Students will practice vocabulary related to basic illnesses and symptoms, as well as reporting on basic vital signs. In terms of medication, the course covers vocabulary related to enteral medication, and pain management is addressed through the use of a pain scale. In addition, students learn sensory verbs. Interaction skills are practiced in areas such as making appointments and interviewing and giving instructions to patients. All themes are practiced by learning vocabulary and applying it in practical interaction situations.

Student workload
The course is worth 2 ECTS credits, which corresponds to approximately 54 hours of student work. The course is completed independently over the course of the semester, and students can schedule their work flexibly according to their own situation.
