Objective

You know the origins and ways of prevention of crime. You show your know-how in the Finnish criminal sanctions system and you are able to describe the main characteristics of criminal procedure. You are able to reflect your relationship with the clients with criminal background and you have abilities to work with them. You know the work methods influencing recidivism. You have competence in guidance and rehabilitative work with clients and their relatives.

Content

What are common theories explaining crimes? What is meant by crime prevention policy? What is the Finnish criminal sanctions system like? What is included in the rehabilitation work of penal institutions? What are the principles, forms and functions of community sanction work? How are the principles of citizen-oriented work fulfilled in criminal work?

Teaching methods

Opintojakso toteutetaan kokonaan aikaan ja paikkaan sitomattomana verkko-opetuksena. Opintojakson voi suorittaa itsenäisesti työskennellen, eikä siihen sisälly ryhmätöitä tai liveluentoja. Opiskelu tapahtuu Learn-oppimisympäristössä. Opintojaksolle hyväksytyt opiskelijat pääsevät liittymään automaattisesti Learniin opintojakson alkaessa.

Exam schedules

Opintojakso muodostuu viidestä oppimistehtävästä, jotka opiskelija suorittaa itselleen sopivana ajankohtana. Kuhunkin oppimistehtävään liittyy materiaali, johon tulee perehtyä ennen oppimistehtävän tekemistä. Opintojaksolla ei ole tenttiä. Kunkin osion tehtävät oi uusia kerran, eli kussakin osiossa on kaksi yrityskertaa.
