Objective

This study module is part of the Nordplus ARISES sport entrepreneurship project. The project includes a 3 ECTS study module in autumn 2025, spring 2026, autumn 2026, and spring 2027. The module will accept 4 students per implementation and will be carried out in collaboration with partner countries.

The objective of this course:
You understand the basic concepts of sport entrepreneurship.

Learning objectives of this course:
You are able to implement the concepts of sport entrepreneurship in real life situations by solving a case study given during the mobility period.

Content

This course utilizes innovative learning methods in the form of social entrepreneurship hackathons to increase knowledge and acquire new perspectives for all partners. Keywords are equal opportunities, social sustainability and sound competition. The aim is to exchange knowledge about how the sport sector across the partner countries face challenges and deals with social inclusion and equity issues.

Materials

The reading material will be provided in advance before the Hackathon event. The material includes academic articles, case study materials, and instructions regarding the Hackathon.

Teaching methods

The course includes a 3-day Hackathon event in the partner country as well as group meetings before the trip. Students will solve a task given by a local sports organization in international groups during the Hackathon.

The used method is based on problem based learning method and utilized both online and face-to-face.
