Evaluation methods and criteria

Feedback on learning assignments.
The pair/group assignments held or presented in class are reviewed and feedback is received in class, and these are also associated with self- and peer-evaluation.

The maximum number of points a student can get on the final exam is 100. A minimum of 50 points is required for a pass. In points this means:

grade 5 = 89-100 points

grade 4 = 77-88 points

grade 3 = 65-76 points

grade 1-2 = 50-64 points

Objective

The object of the course
In this course, you will familiarize yourself with the basic concepts and definitions of jurisprudence, as well as the legislation governing contract law and environmental legislation, principles of contract law, and legal practice. You will develop your own expertise in contract law matters and apply what you have learned in practical situations. Contract law is the most central legal area, and you will need the knowledge of contract law not only in your studies, but also constantly in your work, irrespective of whether you work in the private or public sector.

You recognize the legal question at stake in the court case. You are capable of preparing documents related to contract law.

The course covers basic concepts related to jurisprudence and sustainable development, questions related to making and terminating a contract, and invalidity. The starting points related to the interpretation of agreements and related jurisprudence.

Teaching methods

The course will be completed by participating in lecture teaching, which is carried out as face-to-face teaching in a classroom setting and, according to a separate announcement, also as online lectures (webinar) as well as independently following online lectures offered by external parties (eg. Eduhouse). In addition, the course includes learning assignments and exercises as well as classroom pair/group assignments.

Exam schedules

The grade for the course is based on the final exam. The course assignments must be completed before the final exam.
Final exam in Moodle on April 29, 2026-April 30, 2026 at 12:00 p.m.
The first resit will be available on May 8, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. and May 9, 2026, at 12:00 p.m.
The second resit will be available on May 15, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. and will close on May 16, 2026, at 12:00 p.m.

You must register for the resit no later than two (2) days before the exam date by sending an email to the teacher.

Completion alternatives

The use of an optional completion method is subject to a well-founded reason that will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Student workload

The learning assignments will mainly consist of court cases related to the application of legislation and the preparation of documents.

Adequate 1
You understand the basic legal concepts and definitions sustainable development. You are familiar with the legislation governing contract law and the general principles of contract law. You recognize the legal question at stake in the court case. You know how to prepare contractual documents by taking into account the requirements of sustainable development.

Satisfactory 2
You understand the basic legal concepts and definitions and sustainable development. You are familiar with the legislation governing contract law and the general principles of contract law and are capable of applying them in practical assignments. You recognize the legal question at stake in the court case and the applicable points of law. You know how to prepare contractual documents by taking into account the requirements of sustainable development.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good 3
You understand the basic legal concepts and definitions and sustainable development. You are familiar with the legislation governing contract law and the general principles of contract law and are capable of applying them in practical assignments. You recognise the legal question at stake in the court case and the applicable points of law and comply with the instructions provided for resolving a court case. You are able to draw up contractual documents and know the general principles of contract law pertaining to them and the formal requirement imposed by legislation by taking into account the requirements of sustainable development..

Very Good 4
You master the basic legal concepts and definitions and sustainable development and are able to use them in practical situations. You are familiar with the legislation governing contract law and the general principles of contract law and are capable of applying them in practical assignments. You recognize the legal question at stake in the court case and the applicable points of law and resolve the case in accordance with the instructions provided. You are able to draw up contractual documents and know the general principles of contract law pertaining to them and the formal requirement imposed by legislation by taking into account the requirements of sustainable development.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent 5
You master the basic legal concepts and definitions and sustainable development and are able to use them in practical situations. You are familiar with the legislation governing contract law and the general principles of contract law and are capable of applying them in practical assignments. You recognize the legal question at stake in the court case and the applicable points of law and are capable of analyzing the case in a versatile way, showing problem-centred resolving ability. You are able to draw up contractual documents and interpret completed contracts and guide other members of the work community in the drawing up of documents by taking into account the requirements of sustainable development.
