Objective

Purpose of the course

In this course, you will familiarize yourself with the evidence-based knowledge of perioperative (pre-, intra- and postoperative) nursing care in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care.

Competence goal of the course

You are familiar with culturally sensitive and safe evidence-based nursing methods at different stages of the perioperative patient's care path.

You have basic knowledge of safe pain management, drug and fluid therapy, and recording of a perioperative patient.

You know the key guidance methods used in perioperative patient guidance.

You can apply your knowledge of the most important diseases that require surgical treatment when carrying out perioperative patient care at different stages of the treatment process.

You know the key communication and interaction methods used in perioperative care.

You understand patient safety and multi-professionalism as a central part of perioperative care.

Content

Perioperative (pre-, intra- and post-phase) patient treatment process and treatment path.

Pre- and postoperative nursing, anesthesia nursing and surgical nursing.

Patient safety-related treatment technology devices, side-by-side tests, operating models and legislation. Dangerous situations in perioperative nursing and their prevention.

Drug, nutritional and fluid therapy, blood transfusions, wound care and treatment-related infection control.

Perioperative pain management, culturally sensitive guidance.

Multi-professionalism and consulting, reporting, recording and communication skills, also digitally.

Qualifications

You manage health promotion, key control methods and internal medicine nursing, as well as mental health, substance abuse, and crisis nursing. You know the basics of evidence-based nursing decision-making. You master the contents of anatomy and physiology, as well as the areas of pharmacology and medicine, which are related to the aforementioned Nursing studies.
