Objective
You will know pressure vessel law and rules of inspection companies. You will understand and can design pressure vessels and -pipelines.
EA-KW KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
Knowledge and understanding of engineering disciplines underlying their specialisation, at a level necessary to achieve the other programme outcomes, including some awareness at their forefront
EA-EC ENGINEERING PRACTICE
Ability to use the awareness of the forefront of their engineering specialisation in design and development. Ability to apply norms of engineering practice in their engineering specialisation.
EUR-MC MULTIDISCIPLINARY COMPETENCES
Awareness of the wider multidisciplinary context of engineering. Awareness of societal, health and safety, environmental, economic and industrial implications of engineering practice and recognition of the constraints that they pose.
Content
Pressure vessel standards
Rules fir inspection companies and pressure vessels
Strenght of materials for pressure vessels
Materials
Lecture notes. Pressure vessel standards, Standard of industrial pipelines, Pressure vessel law.
Teaching methods
Lectures, video lectures and examples. Through problem-based learning, you have tasks that you set out to solve. You can use videotaped examples, videotaped theory lectures or discussion forums to help you solve the assignments. You can solve the tasks alone or in groups, but the submissions are always individual. In pure remote implementations, you use webinars or video lectures to help with guidance. In face-to-face implementations, it is possible to calculate tasks in a common space with the help of a teacher.
You must be present at the first lecture (either remotely or face-to-face), and the first assignments must be submitted on time. If the above is not realized, the student will be removed from the course. In the middle of the course, you give anonymous feedback.
Exam schedules
Two exams: Pressure vessel law theory exam and calculation exam. Re-exams 2 pcs in May.
