Objective

You will get an overview of the different phases of an electrical design project and outline the structure of the low voltage electricity network and the factors influencing its dimensioning. Studying in this course requires basic knowledge of electrical engineering and you will need this knowledge in the other courses in this module.

EUR-ACE ENGINEERING PRACTICE
You recognize the importance of standards and regulations in electrical engineering. You are familiar with the calculation and simulation programs used as a engineering aid and know how to use them to help design components and protections. You will know the basics of load calculation and the technical sizing methods used in the selection of components. You have knowledge of the general electricity distribution network and the electricity network of buildings and you know how to dimension their components.

EUR-ACE MULTIDISCIPLINARY EXPERTISE
You will understand the multidimensional nature of electrical engineering and understand its implications for safety, environmental and economic issues, as well as the great responsibility of the designer in these. You recognize the industry is constantly evolving and changing and you are ready to evolve with it.

Content

In this course, you will gain an overall understanding of the different phases of an electrical design project and grasp the structure and sizing factors of low-voltage electrical networks. The course requires basic knowledge of electrical engineering, and the skills learned will be essential for other courses in this module. You will understand the importance of standards and regulations in electrical design and be able to use calculation and simulation software for component and protection sizing. This course equips you with the skills to work as an electrical designer, considering safety, environmental, and economic aspects.
