Tavoitteet

The student masters the most essential areas of Cisco Systems networks: concepts, used technical implementations and topics connected with general structure of data networks. In addition, the student masters the design principles of Cisco Systems networks and is able to design for them the applicable network protocols based of requirement definition taking into account the restrictions.

Sisältö

The course contains the contents of Cisco Networking Academy program’s Cisco Certified Networking Associate certificate including the first (CCNA1) and second semester(CCNA2). The student understands the concept of addressing and naming in Internet Protocol Version 4 and Version 6 environments. The student is able to subnetwork Internet Protocol Version 4 and Version 6 addresses. He (she) is able to build a small-scale Ethernet network using routers and switches. The student is able to use the command prompt of Cisco Systems devices. The student understands the structure of routing tables and the process of route selection. The student understands and is able to describe static and dynamic routing protocols and their differences. The student is able to design and configure access control lists, dynamic host configuration protocol and network address translation.

The course contains two independent parts (CCNA1 & CCNA2) and they both have their own exams. The weighting for both is as follows below:Cisco Systems e-exam 30% JAMK written exam 30% Skills test 20% Attendance in theory lessons or laboratory exercises 10% Module exams 10%

Satisfactory 2: The student masters the design of Cisco Systems based networks and is able to apply the designs into practice satisfactorily. The student’s reflection on his (her) learning is satisfactory.

Sufficient 1: The student masters the design of Cisco Systems based networks and is able to apply the designs into practice sufficiently. The student’s reflection on his (her) learning is passable.

Fail 0: The student does not meet the minimum criteria set for the course.
