Objective
The student knows how to carry out a development project that benefits working life, his own field or professional competence responsibly and in cooperation with others. He knows how to communicate the different phases of his work clearly to his supervisor and the necessary stakeholders.
The development project can also be related to starting your own business.
Content
The student does a working life project related to Finnish working life. If the student is not working, he tries to find a connection with a company or community where it is possible to do a project-based development task and this promotes the student's employment.
The topic of the work life project is not limited and it can also be related to starting your own business. The purpose is that the student gets in some form contact with Finnish working life and the activities of companies or communities.
The end result of the working life project is defined in the project plan made at the beginning of the project. The project's steering group includes a supervisor appointed by Jamk and a representative(s) of the company/community.

Teaching methods
In the course, a project for working life is carried out as an individual or group project. The project can also be related to the establishment of a company.
In working life project the student will have personal mentor, with whom student will agree on steering meetings. Steering meetings are roughly held once a month via internet or face-to-face.
There are different study assignments in working life project, which will ensure professional project realization.
Study material is available in Moodle study environment.

Working life project is made for own organization or selected organization.

Student workload
The scope of the course depends on the scope of the working life project and can be 5 to 15 credits.
One credit means an average of 27 hours of work, i.e. the workload of a 5-credit course is about 135 hours. The distribution of time for such a project can be as follows:
Guidance meetings 10 - 20 h
Learning assignments and self-study 27 h
Implementation of the project 105 h.
