Objective

The student masters the basic concepts of technology related to the bioeconomy.
The student knows modern and intelligent technologies related to bioeconomy production processes and has become familiar with their application possibilities.
The student understands the technological development trends of the bioeconomy and is able to utilize the related opportunities as a source of innovations in his/her own field of specialization and manage the technological research and development process.

Content

At least two of the following, according to the student's choice:
Technological solutions related to the cultivation of forest biomass
Technological solutions related to the cultivation of field biomass
Technological solutions related to the cultivation and processing of other biomasses
Technological alternatives in the food production chain
Technologies for the production and use of bioenergy
Solar and wind energy technologies
Electricity and heat distribution methods, hybrid energy systems
Production and distribution of biofuels for transport
New technologies for the utilization of waste and by-product biomasses

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Sufficient (1): The student knows the basic technological options in the bioeconomy sector and the related terminology.
Satisfactory (2): The student knows the basic technological solutions in the bioeconomy sector and the related terminology, but has shortcomings in the application of key issues.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good (3): The student knows the technological concepts and production and processing methods of the bioeconomy. He/she is able to make satisfactorily justified choices regarding technological challenges in the bioeconomy. The student is familiar with modern and intelligent technological solutions in the bioeconomy.
Excellent (4): The student masters the key issues of the course and is able to apply them critically and innovatively when solving individual technological challenges in the bioeconomy. He/she is familiar with the development trends and solutions of bioeconomy technologies in a diverse manner in his/her chosen field of specialization.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent (5): The student masters the key points of the course and is able to apply them critically and innovatively when solving demanding technological challenges in the bioeconomy sector in broader contexts, such as planning a more efficient and comprehensive use of biomass. He/she is familiar with smart and modern technological solutions in the bioeconomy and is able to anticipate future developments in several bioeconomy sectors.
