Objective
The purpose of the study module is to strengthen the student’s competence concerning the key principles of career management, through which the work ability, motivation, and competence of employees of different ages are promoted. Additionally, the aim is to enhance expertise in matters related to age, career transitions, and workplace personnel practices. Upon completion of the course, the student will: 1) Recognise issues and challenges related to employees of different ages and career transitions, and identify ways to address them. 2) Understand the effects of age discrimination in working life, recognise age-related prejudices, and generate alternative ways of speaking and acting in the workplace. 3) Understand the factors affecting work ability and apply them to the development of work ability and work engagement among employees of different ages. 4) Understand the significance of career management and age management for organisational success. 5) Apply various theoretical perspectives to career management and age management. 6) Evaluate an organisation’s age management practices and identify areas in need of development. 7) Plan concrete actions and strategies for strengthening and developing age management within organisations.

Location and time
There are no time-bound lectures; the entire course is completed as online studies.
Materials
All course materials and literature are available in Moodle, which will open at the start of the implementation.
Teaching methods
A course unit implemented entirely online, according to one’s own schedule. Studies may be started and completed at any personally convenient time. There are alternative submission dates for assignments. Please note, however, that completed work is processed and recorded during the first week of each month. The implementation consists of independent work and various types of material supporting learning (videos, literature, online discussions, multiple-choice exams, written assignments, peer assessment). All assignments are individual, although they may include peer-assessed components. The implementation follows a planned schedule, but it can also be completed entirely at one’s own pace.

Exam schedules
Examinations available in Moodle can be completed at your own pace. Each examination can be retaken three times, and a score of 60% correct answers is required to pass. The examination may only be retaken after a full day has passed since the previous attempt.
