Objective

The student understands the technical terms related to big data (tools and applications) and is able to process, analyze, and extract meaningful information from large amounts of complex data (by using the map/reduce framework).

Content

Introduction to Big Data, Data Science, and Hadoop/MapReduce. Subtopics include data gathering, integration, graph analytics, and data visualization for getting valuable insight from big data.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Pass: assessment is based on examination and completed assignments on main subjects.
Fail: The student does not meet the minimum criteria set for the course.
