Objective

The students understand the basics of EMC design and can use standards to support design. They also know EMC test methods.

Content

EMC standards, EMC directive, coupling of interferences, circuit design and earthing, interfaces, filtering and shielding. EMC tests, test equipment and spaces.

Qualifications

- theoretical electrical engineering
- electromagnetism
- basics of analog and digital electronics

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Laboratory exercises and possible laboratory visits are compulsory.
Excellent (5) The student has a clear overview of the subject and he (she) can apply different methods in EMC design.
Good (3-4) The student can utilize EMC design rules in electronics design and he (she) knows the most common EMC test methods
Satisfactory (1-2) The student knows the noise coupling mechanisms. The mastering of the learning objectives of the module is imperfect.
