Objective

The student applies the values and principles of client-oriented nursing to multi-professional cooperation. S/he understands the significance of preventive work for the wellbeing of the population and can identify different implementers and service providers of health promotion both in the public and the private sector. S/he is able to view health and wellbeing based on empowerment and to support the health of individuals and groups. S/he recognizes and analyses the needs of individual and group health promotion and plans, implements and evaluates a health education project or initiative related to health promotion based on the needs. As a member of a nursing team, s/he deepens his/her competence in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing as a part of holistic patient care. S/he gains practice in the rehabilitative and health-promoting care of patients suffering from national health problems. Under supervision, s/he is able to implement different forms of mental health, crisis and addiction care, and can provide guidance to patients (collectiveness and groups, medication, family- and network-oriented practice). S/he can use nursing interventions in a cooperative relationship and utilize mentoring to develop his/her competence. S/he is able to evaluate his/her own competence and develop him/herself as specialists. S/he is able to use mentoring in support of his/her own competence, understands cultural differences and is able to cooperate with individuals from different cultural backgrounds.

Health promotion 3 cr: projects, hospitals and health centers, non-institutional health care providers and associations
Internal medicine, professional practise 6 cr
Mental health and addiction work, professional practise 6 cr

Qualifications

Basic theoretical and clinical competence in nursing and theoretical knowledge of health promotion and national diseases. Drug calculation exam passed.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Pass (S) The student has skills in observing, recognizing and analyzing the customer's/patient's needs related to health promotion and public health in nursing practice. He/she is able to solve problems in clinical multidisciplinary situations. He/she understands the function of the human being, which guides the student to observe and recognize the needs-based care of the customer/patient. The student masters central evidence-based nursing practice techniques and has internalized the ethical and aseptic knowledge base. He/she plans, implements and assesses the care of the customer/patient in a customer-oriented and multi-professional manner. He/she is able to use and present information in interactive situations of his/her team clearly and in a structured, instructive and constructive manner. The student is able to perceive how he/she should improve his/her skills in the future from the perspective of working life trends.

Fail (0) The student does not have the skills to solve problems related to health promotion and public health in nursing practice. He/she has not mastered the central functions or essential clinical skills of nursing. He/she risks or neglects the safety of the customer/patient (e.g. aseptic techniques, confidentiality). The student avoids and/or is indifferent to the patient/customer. His/her behavior is unprofessional (language, clothing, intoxicants). The student acts irresponsibly and passively.
