Objective

The students know how to design and perform electro-technical measurements connected with various areas of electrical power engineering in a systematic and safe way. They also know how to analyse and report on the research results in writing.

TSAST – Electrotechnical and other basic competence
The student is able to apply mathematical methods and tools to describe the phenomena of the field and to solve problems.

TSASV – Competence in electric power systems

The student is able to dimension the components for network of electricity distribution and buildings’ electrical network.
The student has the knowledge of the protection and operation supervision of machines and devices of electricity distribution and electric systems.
The student has the knowledge of electric motor drives.

EA-IV: Investigations
The student has the ability to conduct literature searches and use databases and other sources of information.

Content

Design, implementation and reporting of electro-technical measurements, as well as safe working methods in accordance with relevant regulations.
The laboratory exercises include the following subject areas:
Relay protection technique of electric power systems
Electric machines and use of electricity
PLC
Electrical sensors
Verifying measurement of electrical installations
Synchronous machines
Frequency converter drives
Converters

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

To pass the course
- The student masters key issues and terminology and is able to apply them perceiving different solutions
- The student is able to design and carry out electrical measurements related to electrical power engineering
- The student is able to analyze and report on research results in written form
