Objective

The student identifies thermal and moisture risks to the building envelope caused by climate change. The student is able to analyze structures and knows the effect of climate change on the overall operation of a building. The student is able to inspect energy efficiency improvements of a building in terms of structures, building services and energy solutions.

Content

- The effects of climate change
- Structural performance criteria (thermal and humidity), mold susceptibility and mold index
- Implementation of building physical calculations, both stationary and dynamic mode
- Computer-aided calculations
- Drying calculations
- Heating energy consumption of buildings, current status and future
- Indoor climate classification and other regulations and guidelines
- The most common building technology solutions and heating energy solutions
- Personal exercise: examination of the total energy of the building, thermal and moisture technical assessment of the structures, improvement of energy efficiency and cost assessment. The exercise is done to the target of your choice.
