Objective
The value of public procurement in Finland is approximately €40 billion annually, so the impact on society is very significant. For this reason, it is important that public procurement is carried out smartly in order to procure exactly what is intended. During the course, you will increase your understanding of significance of public procurement as well as the appropriate implementation methods in practice.
Competences to be promoted in the course:
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
You will understand the significance and strategic role of public procurement. You will understand the special characteristics of the public sector from the perspective of procurement. You will recognize the regulations set by Procurement Law, especially regarding the tendering process. In addition, you will recognize how public procurement can promote sustainable development and create new innovations.
COMMUNICATION AND TEAMWORK
From a procurement perspective, you can identify stakeholders with whom you can communicate effectively.

You understand the significance of public procurement and recognize its strategic role. You understand the characteristics of the operating environment of public procurement. You understand the effects of Procurement Law and you are able to take them into account in the implementation of procurement. You understand how sustainable development and the emergence of innovations can be promoted through public procurement.
Qualifications
There is no requirement for prior learning. The course can be taken from your own starting level. Differentiated tasks are available for different levels.
