Objective

On successful completion of the course, the students will be competent, within the following broad areas of gerontological health promotion, nursing and rehabilitation:
have deepen their global and intercultural competences in the context of applied gerontology
understand physical, psychological and social processes of aging and their impact at an individual, community and social level
be able to support older people´s independent living, quality of life, and opportunity to act as an active member of society
be able to take into account ethical principles and cultural differences in decision-making
be able to utilizes (apply) evidence-based knowledge and skills in professional decision-making in care of older people
have strengthen their knowledge and professional competence in the care of older adults
have the basic idea of gerontechnology
