Objective
The purpose of the course is to increase your understanding of multidisciplinary collaboration in early childhood education and the co-operation in education with guardians. In addition, it is intended that you will learn to identify the key services of families with children and know the goals of the work of the Bachelor of Social Services and welfare officers and curator.

You are able to work as an expert in social services and early childhood education in multidisciplinary and interprofessional collaboration. You are able to identify and evaluate the needs of service guidance and multidisciplinary collaboration to support families.
Content
The main content of the course is educational cooperation with families. The course includes “Perhepolku” -instructor training and practical implementation of the method in early childhood education. In addition, the course examines multidisciplinary cooperation, services for families with children, and the implementation of service guidance, as well as the goals and tasks of the Bachelor of Social Services and welfare officers and curator of early childhood education.
Location and time
The course is offered only once during the academic year. The course will take place in the spring semester.

Completion alternatives
You can apply for admission on the basis of previous equivalent higher education studies (content/objectives/extent), perhepolku- training or previous work experience of at least one year (12 months) (early childhood education teacher/specialist). Discuss your qualifications with your tutor and, if necessary, submit an e-application at least two weeks before the start of the course.Credit transfer applications should be submitted via Peppi to Anniina Berg.

You can describe educational cooperation with families and “Perhepolku” method as part of it. You participate in the implementation of Perhepolku parent evenings. You describe the principles of multidisciplinary work, services for families with children and service guidance. You will identify and be able to name the duties of a Bachelor of Social Services and welfare officers and curator in early childhood education.
Qualifications
Knowledge of Finnish social welfare and early childhood education services.

The total numerical grade for the course consists of 2/3 of the group work and 1/3 of the independent assignment.
