Objective

The student posesses the basic acting skills and is able to use them in creating a role.
The student knows what the creative acting methods are and is able to use them in a musical theatre production. The student recognizes the importance of acting skills and dancing skills as an integral part of the musical theatre as a multi-disciplinary rendezvous.

The student understands what are body and mind work, creative movement, the Laban dance theory, and what benefits they give to self expression and to musical theatre. The student increases his/her own knowledge about his/her body expression and knows how to improve it.

Content

Acting. Creating a role, performing.
Creative movement, the Laban’s theory, body awareness, the esthetic and forms of dance and choreography making.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Pass (S): The student understands the importance of acting and dancing as an integral part of Musical theatre. The student is able to express himself/herself in dancing, moving and acting in a musical theatre production.

Fail (0): The student fails the course if he/she is unable to meet the minimal requirements established for course completion.
