Objective

Purpose of the course

After completing the course, you will know the legislation and practical measures of animal welfare. You know the accounting obligations of animal production and preventive measures in health care, as well as you know the key animal diseases and their control. You know the sustainability indicators, development targets and environmental impacts of animal production. You are able to use technology to assess the conditions and welfare of animals.

-knows the welfare factors taking into account the production of farm animals and knows the role of animal production in the food chain

-own capabilities for an entrepreneurial way of working.

-will be able to take responsibility for your own actions and its consequences and reflect on them in accordance with the principles and values of professional ethics in your field.

-you are able to use knowledge related to your field to find, implement and establish sustainable solutions and operating models.
-understand sustainability challenges, their interdependencies, and the many perspectives of issues and problems.

Learning objective of the course

After completing the course, you will know the legislation on animal welfare and the grounds for assessing welfare. You know the national accounting obligations. You are able to act in accordance with the principles of sustainable development and responsibly in animal production. You know the principles of health care and disease prevention. You know how to use technology to support your assessment.

Teaching methods

This course is part of degree-program and it is targeted to part-time students.

Studying is based on webinars and independent learning from materials. This course uses Moodle as a learning platform.

You know the legislation and practical measures of well-being. You are familiar with the accounting obligations of animal production. You are familiar with health care systems and preventive measures in health care, as well as you are familiar with the key animal diseases and their control. You know the sustainability indicators and environmental impacts of animal production. You are familiar with the available technology for assessing the conditions and welfare of animals.
