Tavoitteet

EUR-ACE Transferable Skills: Engineering graduates will be able to set career goals, make choices and bring them into practice.
They can use diverse methods to communicate effectively with the engineering community and with the society at large.
YHTOP Learning skills: Engineering graduates knows how to develop their competences and how to assess them.
YHTTH Information management skills: Engineering graduates are able to acquire, analyse and select information regarding Bachelor studies, the profession, entrepreneurship, work and further studies.
YHTVI Communications skills: Engineering graduates knows how to use information and communication technology in their assignments.

Sisältö

1st year
ORIENTATION WEEK
Students participate in the orientation week.
CAREER PLAN
• Students are familiar with and analyse their work and training opportunities and make their choice of study programme.
• Students make the estimate of guidance needed.
PORTFOLIO
• Students recognise their prior learning as the basis for their studies, put it together and are able to realistically identify their professional identity development needs
• Students submit the applications related to awarding credits
PERSONAL LEARNING PLAN (PLP)
• Familiarisation with JAMK's learning and working environment (as a part of familiarisation with acquisition of information)
• The students compile his/her own personal learning plan ( PLP)
• The students select their courses

2nd year
CAREER PLAN
• Students describe and evaluate their training experience and review their professional and educational choices
PORTFOLIO
• Students make a mid-term portfolio of their learning performance, their assessments and are able to reflect on their learning and on the development of their professional identity.
PERSONAL LEARNING PLAN (PLP)
• Students become familiar with and complement their PLPs regarding the sections of entrepreneurship, training, internationalisation and theses.

3rd to 4th year
CAREER PLAN
• Students search for employment or a continuing education place and know how to prepare for recruitment situations
PORTFOLIO
• Students make a sample portfolio needed for the application for employment or post-graduate study place that also includes the skills acquired in their work, hobbies and other studies.
PERSONAL LEARNING PLAN (PLP)
• Students make a plan to complete their studies and implement it.

• Personal learning plan (PLP) and its updates, including the plan of completion of studies • Career plan and its updates• Estimate of the need for guidance • Portfolios related to studies • Employment applications and sample portfolio for recruitment situations• PLP discussions in person or in a small group

1st year
• Students participate in the orientation week
• Students engage in their studies and identify their own guidance needs. Students are goal oriented and study with the view of achieving their goals. They are able to work in JAMK's learning and working environment knowing their rights and obligations

2nd year
• Students are familiar with their field of education, occupation and with the tasks and entrepreneurship opportunities of the field.

3rd year
• Students are able to critically evaluate their own skills and their ability to independently and responsibly set goals for their own learning and career development
