Objective

The course studies the ethical aspects of AI: What AI ethics means, what elements and viewpoints should be included in the development of ethically sound AI. The course also sparks the you to formulate own ideas and opinions and argument about AI from an ethical point of view.

To achieve this competence, you will:
you will understand the basic of AI and ethical perspective in implementing AI

Learning to learn: You develop critical and analytical mindset that helps you to study and review existing knowledge in the light of relevant learning resources and learning methods; incentivizes you to acquire new knowledge; and develops your intellectual capabilities to seek conclusions and draw inferences in various contexts.

Content

What dilemmas and viewpoints does the ethical angle bring into AI development and usage.
The course includes topical sub-sections, each containing
- exercises
- own elaboration on AI use case examples (to be peer reviewed by other course members)
- peer reviews (reviewing and assessing other students´ work)

Elements of AI - and Building AI -MOOC-courses recommended but not obligatory

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Passing based on the Certificate created by the course online platform - getting the certificate demands:
- 90 % of exercises done
- 50 % of exercises answered correctly

Complete the course at your own pace. Submit the certificate to the Moodle workspace IB general (enrolment key: ibgeneral). It will be added to your transcript.

no exam. passing the course requires proof of learning (cerfificate) obtained from the MOOC-platform

Alternative completion methods

You have the right to apply for recognition of your studies if you have prior learning (e.g. university studies completed elsewhere) that can be accredited towards the degree you are currently completing.
