Objective

The students master the knowledge about the emissions (to ground, air, water) of energy production processes and environmental and health risks caused by them. The students have knowledge about basics of the management and measurement technologies of the environmental emissions. In addition, the students are able to analyze and report the emission measurement data based on the requirements of e.g. environmental agencies.

Content

The emissions (to ground, air, water) of energy production processes. Environmental and health risks caused by the emissions. Environmental impact assessment tools and environmental permission procedures. Basic measurement technologies of the energy production emissions. Analysis and reporting of measurement data.

Qualifications

Course Chemistry and Environmental Technology passed.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Adequate (1): The student knows the basics of the management and analysis of environmental emissions. He (she) is familiar with the basic terminology of the area.

Satisfactory (2): The student knows the basics of the management and analysis of environmental emissions. He (she) knows the basic terminology of the area. The student can solve basic problems concerning the development of the management and analysis of environmental emissions.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good (3): The student knows the basics of the management and analysis of environmental emissions. He (she) understands the connection between theory and practice. The student can apply his (her) knowledge to different types issues concerning management and analysis of environmental emissions.

Very good (4): The student masters the basic knowledge of management and analysis of environmental emissions. He (she) understands the connection between theory and practice. The student can independently apply his (her) knowledge to different types to different types of issues concerning management and analysis of environmental emissions.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent (5): The student masters the essential knowledge of management and analysis of environmental emissions. He (she) has a good overall picture of the issue and understands the connection between theory and practice. The student can creatively and independently apply his (her) knowledge to different types of issues concerning management and analysis of environmental emissions.
