Objective

Purpose of the Course
The aim of the course is to increase your understanding of Green Care clients in your own field, as well as your knowledge of different Green Care environments and their application and adaptation to client work.

Defining Green Care activities: You will be able to describe concepts related to the Green Care environment and identify the needs of different clients in relation to the environment. You can identify the different Green Care environments and the impact of the Green Care environment on well-being.

Using nature-based methods as part of professionalism: You will be able to define the key clientele and well-being objectives in your field and orient yourself to meeting clients according to their specific characteristics. You will be able to identify client objectives in Green Care activities. You will be able to analyse Green Care settings and plan their suitability for Green Care activities. You understand the importance of guidance in Green Care activities and environments. You can analyse and adapt Green Care environments in a client-centred way, taking into account the accessibility of the environment, the passive and active experience of nature, the person-environment perspective and the suitability of the environment for different uses and client needs.

Sustainability and development: You can describe Green Care service systems and legislation and the principles of sustainable development in relation to the Green Care environment.

Content

The main content of the course is to get acquainted with different types of clients and Green Care environments, goal setting in client work, taking into account the client's capacity and limitations. During the course you will learn about different Green Care settings and the importance of supervision in Green Care. You will learn about the accessibility and usability of the Green Care environment and how to analyse and adapt the Green Care environment to client needs.

Qualifications

You have knowledge of the well-being effects of nature and know how to strengthen the relationship with nature in a professional and goal-oriented way in your work with clients. You identify and can explain the key concepts of Green Care

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Pass:
You will identify different client groups and be able to combine information about the client with analysis and modification of the environment to support the achievement of client objectives. You can identify the Green Care potential of your region. You can describe Green Care environments and their impact on well-being. You can identify the boundary conditions of a Green Care environment (e.g. accessibility and usability) and assess the suitability of the environment for the client's needs. You can identify the needs of different users in relation to the Green Care environment and integrate information in analysing and modifying the environment. You will be able to describe guidance methods to support clients to function and achieve their goals in a Green Care environment.
