Objective

You will be familiar with the key areas of cybersecurity: the current state of cybersecurity, cybersecurity threats, terminology and information interaction. You will understand how these apply to personal, societal and organisational cyber security. You will be familiar with the security mechanisms used in the transmission of information in terms of reliability and availability, as well as the principles and implications of malware and vulnerabilities.

You know the basic principles of cyber security. Understand their relevance to personal, societal and organisational cyber security and how to protect yourself, detect vulnerabilities and ensure the integrity of information.

Identify the relevance and aspects of information security in your chosen subject area.
