Objective
Purpose of the course
In the Development Project, the student will implement a development project in the field of their own skills, to enhance their portfolio. Think your upcoming practical training and work applications; What skills would you like to present in your portfolio? You can choose the topic out of your interests or your desire to enhance your skills related to a specific area.
Course competences
- ICT Specialization: Is able to apply their knowledge and skills in a specific area of ICT, as well as analyze, evaluate, and develop operations in this area.
- Software Engineering: Is familiar with tools and methods related to software engineering and able to apply the knowledge in practical work.
- Sofware Engineering: Is able to define, plan, test and/or implement software products.
- Operating in a workplace: Is able to act professionally in communication and interaction situations at a workplace.
Learning objectives
After the project you have gained deeper knowledge of the topic and you will be able to the schedule and estimate your own project work according to the chosen scope and workload of the project. You have gained broader expertise and experience in your chosen field.
Content
The key contents are understanding the development project needs, defining and producing the output of the project, organizing one's own work and the entire project, and reporting the output in a way that is appropriate for the project.
Qualifications
Basic knowledge of project management, software development and technologies selected for the development project.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
The approved completion of the course requires an independently implemented and documented project. The author(s) document and implement the development project. The student keeps track of the time spent and produces the final report of the project. The results of the project will be presented in an appropriate way (eg final seminar, video presentation).
