Objective
The course focuses on key process equipment and their selection and application. After completing the course, you will understand the role and differences of different process devices and their utilization in equipment choices. You are able to take process safety into account and understand its significance in design. You will be able to draw a PI diagram to match the practical process. You identify the dimensioning criteria for processes and take into account the requirements of sustainable development in dimensioning.
Content
Process equipment (valves, pumps, heat exchangers, conveyors) and the criteria for their selection Steam and condensate systems
Compressed air systems
Process safety Describing unit processes as a PI diagram
Criteria for dimensioning processes.
Qualifications
Tecnical drawing and CAD
Basics of matematics and fysics
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Sufficient (1): You recognize the basics and terminology, but you have significant shortcomings in interpreting the key issues. You are able to copy a diagram and understand that it consists of subprocesses.
Satisfactory (2): You know the basics and terminology, but you have shortcomings in the application of the essentials. You understand that the overall process consists of sub-processes and the importance of automation in process adjustments.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
Good (3): You know the key points of the course and apply them independently when drawing up process diagrams. You know the standards when creating PI- diagrams and the necessary lists. You understand the starting points of dimensioning and the operation of control circuits.
Excellent (4): You master the unit processes of process engineering and their connections to each other. The diagrams you make in the course are clear and easy to read.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
Excellent (5):
You master the key issues of process engineering and are able to apply them and justify your choices. The diagrams you make in the course are clear and easy to read, as well as almost flawless. You have a good understanding of material flows, unit processes and hardware solutions and the dependencies between them.
