Purpose of the course

The opportunity to realise your dreams and ideas will motivate you to perform well and succeed. After completing this course, you will have a tested, viable business plan based on your own business idea.

Knowledge objective of the course

You can build a business idea based on your own dreams, ideas and interests and design a customer-oriented product or service. You will be able to formulate your business idea into a business model. You will be able to test and analyse your business idea, including a business plan and an economic plan including profitability, liquidity, investment and financial calculations. You will be able to put together your business idea into a complete business plan.

In this course you will study the following subjects:
- Business idea, innovation
- Business model
- Competitors ja operational environment analyses
- Value proposition, market analysis, sales and marketing
- Production: production processes, premises, location, production equipment, capital requirements, product development
- Human resources: workforce, business form, business organisation and management, skills development
- Revenues and costs, financial plan: profitability, liquidity, investment and financing calculations
- Risks and limits

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Intermediate 1:
You can draw up a viable business plan based on your own business idea. You can justify the solutions adopted in the different parts of the business plan on the basis of analysis and testing, but in some cases in a limited and incomplete way. You can draw up a guided financial plan for the business.

Satisfactory 2:
You can draw up a feasible business plan based on your own innovative business idea. You can justify the solutions adopted in the different parts of the business plan on the basis of analysis and testing. You will be able to draw up a financial plan for the business.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good 3:
You can develop a viable and competitive business plan based on your own innovative business idea. You can justify the solutions adopted in the different areas of the business plan in a comprehensive and varied way on the basis of analysis and testing. You will be able to draw up a financial plan for the business. Be able to prepare a business plan independently.

Excellent 4:
You can produce a viable and competitive business plan based on your own innovative business idea. You can justify the solutions adopted in the different areas of the business plan in a comprehensive and convincing manner on the basis of a wide range of analyses and tests. Your conclusions are logical and strategically sound. You can calculate the financial plan for the business. You can independently prepare a business plan.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent 5:
You can develop a viable and competitive business plan based on your own innovative business idea. The solutions adopted in the different aspects of the business plan are innovative and are justified in a comprehensive and convincing manner on the basis of a wide range of analyses and tests. The conclusions reached are logical and strategically sound. You are able to calculate a business-related financial plan. You have independently prepared and critically evaluated a business plan.
