Objective

Purpose of the course:
After completing this course you will know the renewable energy part in Finnish energy system, and significance and possibilities in countryside environment. You understand the distribution of energy consumption to different use and ongoing shifts in development. You know modern and flexible energy systems in rural areas and the linkage to energy efficiency and circular economy. You know biogas production raw materials, production technology and utilization possibilities of final products.

Learning outcomes in the course:

You understand the interconnection of renewable energy to low-carbon and circular economy contexts. You understand solar energy and hybrid systems as part of the technical solutions in energy system. You are familiar with some phenomena influencing the efficiency and emissions of energy supply in rural areas.

Satisfactory 2:
You know renewable energy sources, use and some steering mechanisms. You understand some renewable energy concepts, technologies and possibilities in rural operating environment. You know biogas production raw material sources, technology and utilization possibilities. You are familiar with phenomena influencing the efficiency and emissions of energy supply in rural areas.
