Learning outcomes of the course
After completing the course, you will understand the principles of equality, non-discrimination and midwifery in the promotion of sexual and reproductive health.
You will understand and be able to justify the factors related to the safe encounter of women and their families.
You will be able to identify, assess and anticipate factors, risks and dysfunctions that contribute to the sexual health of a woman and her family based on evidence.
You will be able to analyze empowerment-based process thinking and be able to make evidence-based decisions in planning and evaluating the multi-professional midwifery work of a woman and her family.
You will know and be able to justify the key midwifery interventions and methods of helping women with gynecological issues.

Content

Legislation, recommendations and service system governing gynaecological nursing and sexual health promotion
Sexology, diversity of sexuality and gender, and promotion of sexual rights
Diversity in intimate relationships
Encounters and cooperative relationships between women and families with different cultural backgrounds, as well as identifying and bringing up difficult and sensitive issues.
Factors, risks and disorders of sexual health of women and families, as well as violence against women
Phenomena, principles, models and empowerment-based methods for promoting sexual health in women and families
An evidence-based treatment process in the planning and evaluation of gynecological nursing.
Key interventions and support methods in gynecological nursing and the utilization of digitality in gynecological nursing

Qualifications

The student masters the contents of anatomy and physiology as well as pharmacology and medicine related to the above mentioned nursing studies.
The student masters the methods of health promotion, internal medicine, mental health, substance abuse and crisis management, acute, operative nursing, family and pediatric nursing.
The student knows the principles of evidence-based decision making.
