Objective

The aim of the course is to familiarise you with the different areas of first-line management and their importance in the implementation of the basic task and in managing the client process. You will also gain an understanding of the principles of teamwork and the key tasks of a team leader.

Learning outcomes:

You will identify the economic, social and environmental aspects of sustainability management. You are able to use knowledge related to your field to find, implement and establish sustainable solutions and operating models.

You know how community and team leadership is key to delivering client work, managing and organizing work, growing your expertise and planning your career. You are familiar with key legislation and know how to promote your own and the work community's well-being at work.

Content

The main content of the course is the basics and areas of first-line management. Management theories, psychology of management, legislation, human resource management, well-being at work, sustainable development, diversity management, team leadership, teamwork and self-management.

You know the principles of client work and teamwork in the social and educational sector.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

1= You are able to describe the principles and sub-fields of first-line management and name different management theories. You identify legislation related to first-line management. You can name tasks of a team leader and identify the starting points of teamwork. You describe issues related to diversity and sustainability management.

2= You can explain the principles of proximity management and name different management theories and give examples of them. You are familiar with the legislation and aspects of first-line management. You can define the tasks of a team leader and identify the starting points of teamwork. You can give examples of leadership in diversity and sustainable development.

3= You can present the principles, aspects and different management theories of first-line management and give examples. You can explain the tasks of a team leader and identify the starting points for teamwork. You understand the legislation related to first-line management and know how to apply it in practice. You will present issues related to diversity and sustainability management.

4= You can analyse the principles, components and different management theories of first-line management. You will be able to assess the role of team leaders and the basis for teamwork. You can apply and give examples of legislation related to first-line management. You are able to evaluate and explain the economic, social and environmental aspects of diversity and sustainable development management.

5= You are able to analyze the principles and aspects of first-line management and evaluate different management theories. You will be able to assess in a developmental way the role of the team leader and the implementation of team work. You are able to interpret and apply legislation related to first-line management and give examples from it. You are able to critically evaluate and justify the economic, social and environmental aspects of diversity and sustainable development management.
