Objective
The role of purchasing in business has grown significantly. On average, purchasing is more than 50% of a company’s revenue. In some companies, it can be as high as 80–90%. Modern purchasing is no longer just about cost control and savings; it is a vital part of successful business. Purchasing is the professional management of external resources.
In the Sustainable Purchasing course, you will learn to understand the role and importance of purchasing in a transport company’s business. You will learn to identify the most significant purchases for a company and gain tools to develop them. You will understand how procurement impacts an organization’s sustainability goals. In addition, you will learn to consider purchasing from the perspective of an organization buying transport services.
