Objective
This course is part of the module Basics of Adult Care. After completing the course Surgery Patient Care 1: - you will be familiar with the clinical pathway of a surgery patient - you will be familiar with the key treatment procedures and nursing methods used in the treatment of a surgery patient - you will know how to guide the patient and their family at different stages of surgical nursing - you will know the basics of medically assisted treatment in surgical care.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
- Student can name the roles of different operational and service units as a part of the care and service path and knows the principles of service guidance. - Student understands individual functions of clinical care and demonstrates some knowledge of evidence-based care. - Student can identify patient/customer guidance needs and is, under guidance, able to provide guidance in different operational environments. - Student knows the principles of safe medically assisted treatment and key medicine groups.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
- Student can justify their description of the roles of different operational and service units as a part of the care and service path and knows the principles of service guidance. - Student can outline clinical care based on customer needs and demonstrates knowledge of evidence-based surgical nursing care. - Student can identify patient/customer guidance needs and is able to independently provide guidance in different operational environments. - Student understands the importance of safe medically assisted treatment as part of overall treatment and is familiar with key medicine groups used in surgical care.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
- Student knows the roles of different operational and service units as a part of the care and service path and knows the principles of service guidance. - Student can apply clinical care functions based on customer needs in a versatile manner and demonstrates critical application of evidence-based surgical nursing care. - Student can assess patient/customer guidance needs and is able to independently provide guidance in different operational environments. - Student can provide a critical assessment of the importance of safe medically assisted treatment as part of overall treatment and is familiar with key medicine groups used in surgical care.
