Objective

After completing the course Intra-Operational Nursing: - you will have deepened your evidence-based competence in surgical and anaesthesia nursing and immediate post-operation monitoring - you will have mastered drug calculations, become familiar with the key anaesthetic measures and medicine groups used in anaesthesia, and you will know how to administer and evaluate the pharmacotherapy and infusion therapy of surgical patients - you will understand the impacts of the health and social services reform on the operational environments of surgical and anaesthetic work - you will understand the operating principles required for sustainable development - you will have analysed the special features related to wellbeing at work and the multi-professional workplace community in surgical and anaesthetic care.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

- Student knows the most common care needs of a customer in surgical and anaesthesia care and is able to apply care measures according to the patient’s needs. - Student can calculate the doses of the medicines used in surgical and anaesthesia care flawlessly. - Student uses professional concepts related to surgical and anaesthesia care systematically and is able to justify activities in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. - Student can apply factors that promote personal and the work community’s wellbeing in the operating environment of surgical and anaesthesia care.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

- Student knows the special features of surgical and anaesthesia care and is able to apply care measures according to the patient’s needs on the basis of research-based knowledge and instructions. - Student can calculate the doses of the medicines used in surgical and anaesthesia care flawlessly. - Student uses professional concepts related to surgical and anaesthesia care expertly and is able to justify activities in accordance with the principles of sustainable development in a versatile manner. - Student can apply factors that promote personal and the work community’s wellbeing in the operating environment of surgical and anaesthesia care and find targets for development.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

- Student knows the most common care needs of a customer in surgical and anaesthesia care and is able to apply care measures according to the patient’s needs of their own accord. - Student can calculate the doses of the medicines used in surgical and anaesthesia care flawlessly. - Student uses professional concepts related to surgical and anaesthesia care expertly and on a large scale and is able to justify and assess the activities in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. - Student can apply factors that promote personal and the work community’s wellbeing in the operating environment of surgical and anaesthesia care as well as propose developmental needs based on research-based knowledge.
