Objective

After completing the course Palliative Family Care: - you will have deepened your evidence-based competence in the evaluation of the need for palliative care, the special issues of customer-oriented treatment of symptoms, and the psychosocial support for families and patients - you will have mastered drug calculations, become familiar with the key medicine groups used in palliative care and you will know how to administer and evaluate the pharmacotherapy and pain management of the patient - you will understand the impacts of the health and social services reform on palliative care and rehabilitation service processes - you will understand the operating principles required for sustainable development - you will have analysed the special features related to wellbeing at work and the multi-professional workplace community in palliative care.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

- Student is familiar with the special issues of palliative patient care and is able to apply care measures according to the needs of the patient and their family. - Student can calculate the doses of the medicines used in palliative care flawlessly. - Student uses professional concepts related to palliative care systematically and is able to justify activities in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. - Student can apply factors that promote personal and the work community’s wellbeing in the operating environment of palliative care.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

- Student is familiar with the special issues of palliative patient care and is able to apply care measures according to the needs of the patient and their family on the basis of research-based knowledge and instructions. - Student can calculate the doses of the medicines used in palliative care flawlessly. - Student uses professional concepts related to palliative care expertly and is able to justify activities in accordance with the principles of sustainable development in a versatile manner. - Student can apply factors that promote personal and the work community’s wellbeing in the operating environment of palliative care and find targets for development.

- Student is familiar with the special issues of palliative patient care and is able to apply care measures according to the needs of the patient and their family of their own accord. - Student can calculate the doses of the medicines used in palliative care flawlessly. - Student uses professional concepts related to palliative care expertly and on a large scale and is able to justify and assess the activities in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. - Student can apply factors that promote personal and the work community’s wellbeing in the operating environment of palliative care as well as propose developmental needs based on research-based knowledge.
