Objective

Written and oral presentation skills are learned through seminar-type work. The students practice to search, assess, choose and process information and to communicate the main contents in written and oral form to the other participants. The students learn also assessment when they act as opponents of other students’ presentations.

Content

The presentations handle profoundly some recent field of ICT from the perspective of data processing. The source material of the handled topic is mainly in English and information is acquired primarily from electronic sources (databases). The written presentation is done self-directively. The virtual learning environment is used in the follow-up and guidance of the work.

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of information technological equipment and systems as well as software, in addition,basic skills in written and oral communication.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Demonstration of knowledge as a whole formed from the written report, oral presentation and presentation material as well as the English summary
Excellent (5): The students can apply creatively and in a versatile way different methods in the acquisition and presentation of information.
Good (3-4): The students master the information acquisition and both written and oral communication as well as information acquisition skills at the level required by their professional image.
Satisfactory (1-2): The students are able to acquire professionally relevant information, evaluate its reliability and to present the acquired knowledge in writing and orally.
