Objective

The students learn how to design and perform electro-technical measurements connected with various areas of electrical power engineering in a systematic and safe way. They also learn how to analyse and report on the research results in writing.

Content

Design, implementation and reporting of electro-technical measurements, as well as safe working methods in accordance with relevant regulations. The laboratory exercises include the following subject areas: relay protection technique of electric power systems, electric machines and use of electricity, PLC, electrical sensors, verifying measurement of electrical installations, synchronous machines, frequency converter drives, converters

Qualifications

Competence in electrical power engineering and electrical safety

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Very good (4-5): The student masters well the subjects of the course and is able to do designs and carry out electro-technical measurements independently, systematically and safely. The student can analyze and report his/ her measurement results in writing.
Good (3): The student masters well some of the subjects of the course and is able to do designs and carry out electro-technical measurements safely. The student can analyze and report his/her measurement results in writing.
Satisfactory (1-2): The student has the basic knowledge how to carry out measurements related to different electro-technical fields and how to analyze the results.

Assessment is based on laboratory assignments.
