Objective

The students
- understand the restrictions and possibilities of data networks with regard to the implementation of a multimedia application for the Internet
- can design and implement multimedia applications for the Internet environment
- can load and use different media
- master the basic use of different databanks as information sources for a multimedia application

- Adobe Flash application developer
- ActionScript programming
- the handling and use of media elements in the Internet environment (optimization)
- event handling in Flash Player
- objects and object-oriented programming
- basics of XML and databases as background technologies of an application
- using ready-made UI components
- publishing an application for the Internet environment
o Adobe Flash is mainly used in the course

Qualifications

Multimedia Authoring or equivalent knowledge

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Excellent (5) The Student can realize an interactive application which utilizes an external data repository.
The Good (3-4) The student masters well the details of multimedia programming, like event handling and the use of medias when creating an interactive user interface. Satisfactory (1-2) The student knows the basics of multimedia programming using ActionScript language.
