Objective

The student understands the key areas connected to data centres: concepts, structures, the technical implementation methods used and general infrastructure. The student also knows the basics of data centre design and can design a data centre infrastructure based on requirement specifications, taking limitations into account.

Content

The student learns about data centre areas, the techniques used and infrastructure. The course involves exploring the requirements of data centres and the things to consider in their design.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Excellent 5: The student demonstrates that he/she knows the theory of data centre design extremely well and can independently design a data centre infrastructure based on the information provided.

Very good 4: The student demonstrates that he/she knows the theory of data centre design and can plan a data centre infrastructure based on the information provided.

Good 3: The student has an overall knowledge of the theory of data centre design and can plan a simple data centre infrastructure.

Satisfactory 2: The student knows the basics of the theory of data centre design and can design the outline of a data centre infrastructure.

Adequate 1: The student knows the basics of data centre theory and can interpret simple data centre design documentation.
