Objective

The student knows the different types of virtualisation and their uses. The student recognises the challenges and advantages of virtualisation. The student also knows the most central virtualisation solutions, their design and the techniques used.

Content

The student explores different virtualisation techniques, their most common implementation methods and their strengths and weaknesses. The student learns about the implementation of high availability and techniques that support virtualisation.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Excellent 5: The student understands virtualisation techniques and theory comprehensively. The student can design and implement a demanding fault-tolerant virtual environment.

Very good 4: The student understands virtualisation techniques and theory. The student can design and implement a fault-tolerant virtual environment.

Good 3: The student knows virtualisation theory and how to use virtualisation software, and can implement a simple but functional virtual environment.

Satisfactory 2: The student knows virtualisation theory, the basics of using virtualisation software and the basic procedures in a virtual environment.

Adequate 1: The student knows the basics of virtualisation theory and knows how to use virtualisation software tolerably.

Fail 0: Does not understand the subject area.
