Objective

The students can look for the solutions (machines, furniture, systems…) of animal husbandry suitable for a farm’s operations. They can identify the pros and cons of the various solutions, as well as their compatibility. They can systematically compare the various solutions both orally and in writing. They can schedule the development procedures of domestic animal production according to their order of importance and the difficulty of implementation.

Content

The buildings for cattle husbandry, pig husbandry, horse husbandry; functional systems, machines, furniture. Through the topic choice of the assignment, the students can focus the contents according to their career plan and personal study plan.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Inexperienced performer
Can make comparisons between the technological solutions of domestic animal husbandry, including those previously unknown, and use these comparisons to develop domestic animal production. Can look for advice regarding the implementation of work and adapt projects to the client’s schedule.
Developing performer
When making comparisons between the technological solutions of domestic animal husbandry, the student can holistically take the other operations and different perspectives into account. The solutions also provide the opportunity for future production changes. In the discussions with colleagues, the student can highlight his/her findings, in addition to problems, thus developing the work community.
Competent performer
Understands, in general terms, and can take into account the effects of the simplification of the taught models and theories on the development of domestic animal production technology. Can also look for unusual technological overall solutions which integrate different systems, improve operations and save costs. Is able to provide expert counselling to farm workers, including those previously unknown, regarding the development of domestic animal production technology.
